Main Responsibilities

The Human Resource Manager will play a key role in developing skilled, committed and well- motivated staff, while monitoring all Human Resource activities in line with the Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation- Tanzania (Baylor Tanzania) missing and in accordance with Government Tanzania employment laws and regulations. This position will also play a key role in the creating of personnel development and retention strategies. 

The Human Resource manager will:

* Design, implement, monitor and review HR systems, policies and procedures

* Provide recruitment, selection and placement services according to Baylor- Tanznaia human resource needs and in-line with programmatic work plans, budgets and recruitment guidelines

* Plan, develop, implement and maintain the Human Resources information management system; performance management system and coordinate performance reviews in accordance with Baylor- Tanzania HR Manaual and BIPAI policies

* Design and implement and employee retention strategy

* Provide continuous guidance, assessment, coaching, counseling of staff as may be required

* Design and monitor the implementation of employee relations, health, safety and welfare benefits and policies

* Identify Human Resource risks for the organisation and design mitigation measures for each of the risks identified by the organisation

Experience

The successful candidate will have a degree in Human Resource Management or another relevant field with a minimum of 3 years experience in HR Management. Knowledge of HIV/ AIDS and/ or pediatric- related programs/ projects is an added advantage.

The successful candidate will have:

* Demonstrated knowledge of Tanzania employment laws and regulations

* Experience with provision and support of Human Resource policies and procedures in the NGO sector

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili

* Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office Applications

* The flexibility and the ability to effectively perform in a team setting

* The ability and flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and to travel with occasional overnight stays

* Knowledge of HIV/ AIDS and/ or pediatric- related programs/ projects a plus 

* This position will be based in Dar es Salaam with frequent travel to Mwanza and Mbeya
