Main Responsibilities

Local Content Coordinator is to ensurethe company is fully compliant with the Petroleum (Local Content) Regulation, 2016. He/she will be required to fully understand Local Content Regulations, plan for their implementation and ensure their execution across all activities carried out,by the company ,across all company departments, and by any contractors/sub-contractors working for the company. 

Local Content Coordinator's responsibilities includes:

  •   Assist and advise in the development of company procedures and policy that will ensure all activities are compliant with Government Local Content Regulations.

  •   Liaise with and advise all company functional areas/departments, in particular Legal, HR, Procurement, Finance and contractors/sub-contractors, to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Petroleum (Local Content) Regulations.

  •   Formulate under direction and discussion with the company management, a plan for the implementation of the Local Content Regulations.

  •   Develop and make available for management use company Local Content database for all activities carried in the company to abridge preparation of relevant reports to be submitted to PURA and EWURA.

  •   Prepare and submit all Local Content reporting required of the company in complying with Local Content Regulations and any other associated regulations that may be introduced through the implementation of the Petroleum Act 2015.

  •   Ensure continuous liaison all appropriate Government agencies in the delivery of Local Content plans and procedures, compliant with the Regulations.

  •   Collate, analyze and manage the outcomes of Local Content data across the company that is /would be required by appropriate Government agencies, and company in order to comply with the Petroleum (Local Content) Regulation.

  •   Remain fully conversant with emergent requirements, trends and practices across the industry, focused on the development of Local Content, conduct continuous improvement across the Company to ensure it remains compliant, and can be seen as an industry leader for Local Content in Tanzania. 

  • University Degree in L.L.B ( Laws)

  • preferably with exposure to governmental policies and procedures

  •   Ability to fit into any team, working in a multi-discipline environment, and alongside numerous stake holders and related third parties

  •   High level of professional and personal integrity

  •   Very good ability to work independently when required

  •   Excellent command of written and spoken English

  •   Strong interpersonal skills, able to operate at all levels within the company and with stakeholders.

  •   Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  •   Some experience in report writing is preferable

  •   Ability to prioritize, advise and decide appropriately within a high-pressure environment.

  •   Physically able to operate in both an office and field environment 

IT Skills
  •   Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a highly demanding corporate environment,
